Decay & Rebirth

This is my sketchbook for this project

My project «Decay & Rebirth» is divided into 4 chapters dissected into 5 consecutive stages. Each chapter is a part of the life and death cycle. This project contains lots of personal information. Through this project, I wanted to work on exciting themes as well as show skills in different types of photography from studio photography to street photography. Some pictures have very heavy editing, some have very light invisible editing. This depends on the topic of the shoot and on the image itself. I am under the influence of many works of different artists but I guess the most memorable for me are Jane and Louis Wilson as their works are the most heartbreaking. My series of pictures «Anger» is related to their works. I captured the damage caused by war unleashed in Ukraine on the 24th of February. This traumatic experience was unexpected and extremely painful and accompanied by terrifying personal circumstances. In this project I’ve been relating the deepest and most bitter emotions I’ve ever felt. My set of pictures is hopefully not just a great a piece of art, but also a «set of notes for broken people» who might need help and support to go though their traumatic experience. In one life we live many different lives that sometimes end up with traumatic experiences. As every artists among my shoots I have those that I’m not happy with, but I think I won’t take them out, because they show the progress I’ve made and reveal my emotions and energy which is much more important than just quality. There are some techniques I’ve learned from different artists I’ve explored, but the most significant thing for me is how they express their emotions and energy through their work.

Architecture

Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, 2021

Mexico is the most celebrating place I’ve ever seen. People do not bother much about dirt or poverty, they celebrate and enjoy their lives no matter what happens around.  A big lesson for me: Accept the world as it is. Always stay positive no matter where you are and what surrounds you. Life is beautiful.

Windows

Salzburg, Austria, 2021

Each of us loves to look into the windows, especially when the whole family gathers in the living room on Christmas Eve. My “garland” series of pictures relates this Christmas mood that I hope most of us have before Christmas. A combination of pictures made in photoshop to express my different state of mind on different days.
